I know I'm a little late, but I heard so many great things about "Firefly" and "Dollhouse" that I downloaded them recently and flew through them. Literally just finished the last episode of Dollhouse. Only 2 seasons (a mere 27 episodes) then cancelled and Firefly was canned after just one season, it didn't even have a chance to wrap itself up.
Serenity was an AWESOME movie, that was made a few years later after the huge fanbase Firefly had gotten.
But seriously, what the hell? I've seen much more crap shows go on to 6-8+ freaking seasons. Dollhouse was just amazing, so wasn't Firefly. And we barely got enough of both of them, barely scratched the surface of what could have been imo.
This is a great injustice and it makes me mad to see such quality and amazingly put together and written tv shows get killed so quickly.

You can peep his imdb page here to see his works:

But basically the guy who wrote Dollhouse, Firefly/Serenity, Angel, Buffy...
I'm just saying Firefly and Dollhouse were two great shows that were
very short lived. >:|
I liked firefly(a lot), but not until it went off the air did I start watching. Possibly just bad advertising, and bad names. Dollhouse? I mean you cant judge a book by its cover but just the word dollhouse doesn't sound like something id be interested in.
side note, the pilot from firefly (wash) was in the first couple episodes of V.

I thought the same thing Zalos, about Dollhouse, but it's really NOT what you think. To be honest, when I first heard it and knew it starred Eliza Dushku I thought it was a chick type thing or something. Not gonna be my type.
But it's not like that at all. Consider it a little bit of the Matrix mixed with some Terminator. SORT of has that vibe to it don't go ripping my head off if anyone else has seen it and disagrees with that statement but it takes SOME aspects of those movies imo. It's really worth the watch don't let the title throw you off.
I liked Angel back in the day. Buffy not so much. But I see what you are saying, but also I don't think he is done. I'm sure he will come out with something new.
Angel was on for like 4, or so, years and Buffy was on for 7. Firefly is considered a cult success. Also I'm sure another movie won't come out because it's gross revenue didn't beat it's budget. The series just isn't profitable, like most cult things.
Edit: Oh right and I wanted to mention, watch Nathan Fillion in Castle. I love the series.

Yeah, I know some of his older stuff lasted just these past newer projects haven't lasted despite being great.
But I've been meaning to watch Castle for the past few weeks now because I love Nathan Fillion too.
Def gonna start tonight!
i loved serenity, one of my favorite movies ever. i liked firefly and dollhouse too. shame whedon's work isn't that popular
The reason why great shows get canceled is because Americans aren't capable of watching show that require thinking. They're braindead motherfucking scum and want mindless entertainment like CSI and American Idol.
